The frog is complete with retaining strap (which has been replaced at some point) and shows overall normal signs of use. The leather is supple and solid. Its maker marked (a bit vague to read) and dated (looks like '1940').
It's also unit marked '10.Geb.Jäg.Rgt.98' which makes this frog very rare and interesting.
It means that this frog was issued to a member of the 10.Kompanie Gebirgsjäger Regiment 98. This regiment was part of the 1.Gebirgs-Division and saw combat on different fronts like Poland, France, Yugoslavia, Russia, Greece, Serbia and Hungary.
