The abteilung became Flieger Regiment 22 in August 1942 and in June 1944 it was renamed into Luftgau-Feld-Regiment Belgien-Nordfrankreich (mot. ) 22. The regiment was disbanned in September 1944 and the remnants where absorbed by the 3. or 5.Fallschirm-Division.
