Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the 1.Kompanie Grenadier Regiment 252.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. The unit was formed in December 1940 as Infanterie Regiment 252 and was part of the 110.Infanterie-Disivion. In October 1942 it was renamed in to Grenadier Regiment 252. As part of the division it fought on the eastern front in areas like Smolensk,Klin,Rshew,Brjansk and Bobruisk. In November 1943 the regiment was split. The I.Bataillon became part of Grenadier Regiment 254 which was also part of the 110.Infanterie-Division. It was destroyed in June 1944 in the 'Kessel vom Minsk'.
The 'A' on the tag stands for the bloodtype.
