The document is in good condition. Shows overall normal signs of use. The Verwundetenabzeichen was awarded on 7th of May 1943 to Wilhelm who served in the 1.Kompanie Grenadier Regiment 12. This regiment was formed in 1932! as 12.Infanterie-Regiment and was since autumn 1936 part of the 31.Infanterie-Division. The regiment saw its first combat during the Poland invasion. After Poland it moved to France. In June 1941 it was used during Operation Barbarossa and fought in areas like Bialystok, Smolensk, Moskau, Juchnow, Orel, Bobriusk.
