The overall condition of the dog tag is excellent. The number 61325A tells us that the soldier served with the 1.Kompanie of Fallschirmjäger-Ergänzungs-Regiment 1. Formed in early 1942 it was later that year renamed in Fallschirmjäger-Ausbildungs-Regiment 1. In 1943 it moved to France and in 1944 it was renamed in Fallschirm-Jäger-Ersatz- und Ausbildungs-Regiment 1. During the invasion of Normandy they fought against the Americans and was later moved and demobilized. In Januari 1945 it was reformed again to participate in the defence of Berlin at the Berlin/Tempelhof area. In April 1945 parts of the regiment were used to form the 20.Fallschirm-Jäger-Division which was moved to Assen, Holland.
