The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the '1.Batterie Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung 267'. The 1st Batterie was in the I.Abteilung. This regiment was formed in August 1939 in Hildesheim. The unit trained and supplied soldiers for Artillerie Abteilung 850 and Artillerie Regiment 267 and 385.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the bloodtype of the soldier.
