Nice zinc Wehrmacht Landesschützen related tag in used condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted/served in the 1.Rekrutenkompanie Landesschützen Bataillon D. This bataillon was formed in late June 1940. In 1941 the bataillon became part of the Divisionsstab z.b.V.406. It operated in different cities in Germany such as Alexisdorf, Dortmund and Recklinghausen. Landesschützen unit were often used as prison guards.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
