The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 1.Kompanie Pionier Park Bataillon 561. This bataillon was formed in late August 1939. In 1942 it was part of the 2.Armee which operated on the eastern front. In the last stages of the war it was part of Heeresgruppe Mitte and put into action in East Prussia.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
