In the spring of 1941 the division and its unit moved to the east and November 1941 Pionier Bataillon 22 was stationed on the Krim are where it was caught up in heavy firefights. The 1st Company was cut off at som point and set up in defence. After that the Germans succeeded in pushing the enemy back 5km. The following days the bataillon fought against a tough enemy. The 1st and 3rd company equipped with Flak and anti-tank guns defended the road to the city of Belek. More interesting and detailed information can be found on the net.
