Details

The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 1.Kompanie Nachrichten Ersatz Abteilung 1. This unit was formed in late 1939 in Königsberg. It was set up with a Hunde Ersatz Staffel. The abteilung trained and supplied soldiers for different Nachrichten units. In May 1942 the abteilung became part of the Kommandeur der Nachrichtentruppe I.
The 'B' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
