Very nice zinc Wehrmacht Landesschützen related tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 1.Kompanie Landesschützen Bataillon 842. This bataillon was formed in May 1941 and was placed under the command of Wehrmachtsbefehlshaber Ukraine. It operated in the Poltawa area and later in the area of Rowna. In Febrauy 1944 the bataillon was disbanned and remnants were used to form Infanterie Sicherungs Bataillon 1002 which operated in Rumania.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
