Very nice Wehrmacht Landesschützen related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 1.Kompanie Landesschützen Bataillon 308. This unit was formed in August 1939 in Brandenburg as Landesschützen Bataillon VIII/III. In April 1940 it was renamed into Landesschützen Bataillon 308. In September 1939 it moved to Poland were it operated until the summer of 1942 and then moved to Wuppertal, Germany. At the end of 1942 it moved to Sennelager were it stayed until the end of the war.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
