The document shows overall signs of wear. The medal was awarded to Oberschützen Hermann Pöter who served in the 1.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 5. This regiment was formed in October 1935, but dated back much further. It was part of the 2.Infanterie-Division. The medal was awarded on the 10th of March 1940.
The document is signed by Oberst und Regimentskommandeur Hellmuth Schlömer who later became a Generalleutnant and was awarded the Ritterkreuz and the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub.
