Worn aluminium Wehrmacht dog tag in used condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served/ was drafted in the 1.Kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 6. This bataillon was formed in August 1939 Lübeck. It trained and supplied soldiers for Infanterie Regiment 6 which was part of the 30.Infanterie-Division. But it also trained and supplied soldiers for Infanterie Regiment 501 which was part of the 290.Infanterie-Division.
In April 1943 the bataillon, by then Grenadier Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 6, moved to the Netherlands.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
