The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 1.Kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 304. This bataillon was formed in September 1939 and was based on the Hindenburg-Kaserne. It trained and supplied soldiers for Infanterie Regiment 304 which was part of the 209.Infanterie-Division.
The 'AB' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
