rThe mantel shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It has some mothing (most on the side and back), but this is not really annoying to the eye (please see the photos).
The greatcoat is complete with all its buttons an a pair of sewn-in (Grenz) Infanterie Regiment 125 Oberfeldwebel shoulder-straps. Furthermore, the mantel is size marked, depot marked 'M' (Munich), dated '38' (1938), maker marked by 'Max Müller' from 'Nurnberg'  and named to 'Schleicher.K'  with a lable in the inner pocket.
What is interesting about this mantel is that there is an 'I./GrzJ.R.125' unit stamp on the inside, meaning that the mantel belonged to an Oberfeldwebel who served in the ' I.Bataillon Grenz Infanterie Regiment 125'.
And last but not least, it has an oval stamp of the factory/company that supplied the rolls of fabric used to make the mantel.

The I.Bataillon of Regiment 125 was formed in Trier in November 1938 and was renamed in 1940 into Infanterie Regiment 125. It was put into action on the Western front in May 1940 and was later stationed on Crete in the Spring of 1941. In October 1942 the regiment was renamed into Panzer Grenadier Regiment 125 and shipped to Afrika where it became part of the 164.leichte Infanterie-Division. The regiment was destroyed in Tunesia in May 1943.
It was reformed in July 1943 as part of the 21.Panzer-Division and saw combat during the Normandy campaign that started in June 1944.

We also have and dog tag (Erkennungsmarke) for sale of the unit (Grenz Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 125) that trained and supplied soldiers for this regiment.
