Very nice zinc Luftwaffe Flieger related dog tag in used, but excellent condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 1.Kompanie I.Abteilung Flieger Regiment 63. This regiment was formed in December 1938 as Flieger Ersatz Abteilung 63. In August 1942 the regiment was renamed Flieger Regiment 63. In early 1943 the I.Abteilung of the regiment was stationed in Cuers, Southern France where it stayed till July 1944 when it moved to Remoulins.
After heavy combat against the Americans, where the regiment lost over 1000 men, the regiment was captured and disbanned in early September 1944.
Nice dog tag for your Luftwaffe display.
