Nice aluminium Wehrmacht Bau related tag in used condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of work. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 1.Kompanie Bau-Bataillon 95. This unit was formed in late August 1939 from RAD men. It was put into action short after in South Poland with the XV.Armeekorps as part of the 10.Armee. After Poland the bataillon participated in the invasion of France in May 1940 as part of the 16.Armee. After France the bataillon also participated in the invasion of Northern Russia as part of the 18.Armee. In 1942 it fought in the Leningrad area. In 1943 the unit was renamed into Baupionier Bataillon 95.
In the last states of the war it fought in Kurland and Stettin.
