Very nice aluminium Wehrmacht Bau related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged o a soldier who served in the 1.Kompanie Bau Bataillon 77. This unit was formed in late August 1939. In November 1939 the bataillon was renamed into Festungs Bau Bataillon 77 and was stationed in the west. It participated in the invasion of France that took place in May 1940 and after France was defeated it stayed in France and was stationed in the area of Wimereux, Pais de Calais.
