Nice worn aluminium Wehrmacht Artillerie related tag in used, but overall good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted/served within the 1.batterie leichte Artillerie Abteilung 480. This abteilung was formed in early August 1939, but was disbanned again in late September. The Stab and 1.batterie where used to formed leichte Artillerie Abteilung 752 and this abteilung fell under the 2.Gebirgs-Division from early November 1939 on.
In mid May 1940 the abteilung was renamed into Artillerie Regiment 752 and enlarged with a total of 6 batteries and was still part of the 2.Gebirgs-Division. This changed in early June 1940 when the regiment fell under the 6.Gebirgs-Division. The I.Abteilung Artillerie Regiment 752 was used in January 1941 to form the III.Abteilung Gebirgs Artillerie Regiment 118.
The 'A' on both parts, front and back, stands for the soldier's bloodtype. Note the vaque 'B' that was wrongly stamped in the first place.
Interesting erkennugsmarke.
