The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 1.batterie Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung 257. This unit was formed in early September 1939 in Potsdam. It trained and supplied soldiers for Artillerie Abteilung 270,663,1190 and Artillerie Regiment 59, 150, 257,663 and 1719.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
